Primary School gymnastics

From handsprings to success
(6 to 12 years)

Primary school children are like sponges, absorbing every new thing! They’re ready to take on new challenges and improve their skills. As their physical abilities continue to develop, their focus and attention span improves too.

They’re growing like crazy but the pace of change is unique to each youngster. That’s why our Primary School Gymnastics programmes are a little different from those for our younger members. We’ve divided our sessions into Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced to give youngster the chance to tackle the mat, vault, bar and beam at their own pace. As a child gains new skills, they’re encouraged to advance to the next level.

Our Primary School Children's Gymnastics sessions focus on:

  • Advancing physical strength, flexibility and coordination through gymnastics training
  • Improving each child’s gymnastics skill proficiency
  • Improving confidence and expressive skills in a social setting
  • Active group participation
  • Increasing willingness to take on leadership roles
  • Learning to handle success and disappointment
  • Increasing problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Maintaining attention and sustained concentration

There are six challenging gymnastics sessions for children in this age group:

  • Flips – 6 to 12 years; beginner girls
  • Twisters – 6 to 12 years; intermediate girls
