Meet The Team

Paul & Yvonne Shuttleworth - Owners & Gym Directors

Having recently celebrated our 2nd birthday we are now incredibly proud of our achievements and successes with the programme.  We now have over 300 children coming through our doors on a weekly basis and recruiting new members all the time.  It has been a truly wonderful experience seeing the children progressing through our curriculum based programme and benefiting not only from the physical skills but gaining confidence and self-esteem which in turn has helped them integrate into school life easier as well as being able to take part in other out of school activities.

Our doors are always open for parents to come down and see what we do here at The Little Gym and we would welcome the opportunity for you to see first hand what our programme has to offer.  After 30 years of child development experience, The Little Gym must be doing something right - You'll be amazed!

We look forward to seeing you at The Little Gym Stoke on Trent!

Lucie Owen - Lead Instructor

Lucie has been with The Little Gym Stoke on Trent since we started and is currently undertaking a degree in Teaching at University.  Although Lucie is now working part time hours, she is still responsbile for our grad schoolers and continues to progress our Twisters & Aerials (advanced classes) as well as teaching our Saturday Super Beasts.

Lucie moved to Stoke-on-Trent in November 2000 from South West Wales and from being very young, gymnastics has always been apart of her life, training and competing for Haverford West Gymnastics Club in General Gymnastics, Artistic Gymnastics and Sports Acrobatics.

At the age of 14 she started to teach these disciplines for the club she attended and when she moved to Stoke-on-Trent, continued to teach at various places including Primary and High Schools. It was at this time she began to participate in more dance, having trained in all different types of dance, varying from Ballet to Hip Hop. My education has helped increase my knowledge with GCSE's and 'A' levels including Physical Education, Dance and Biology and now hopes to eventually pursue a career in teaching. Now at 21, gymnastics is still a real passion and passing her love and knowledge of the sport onto children by teaching The Little Gym way gives her great pleasure.

Andrea Hughes - Child Development Instructor

Andrea joined The Little Gym earlier this year and is responsible for teaching Pre school and Parent/Child classes.  She has a great rapport with the children and thoroughly enjoys working with the youngsters.  (Sometimes I think she actually has more fun that they do - if that's possible!)  Married to Andy, she has 2 children, Tyler, 9 and Mya, 5 who both attend classes at the gym.
