Following its official opening last month, The Little Gym Kensington has welcomed over 280 local children to its new centre at Westfield London. Situated on Level One (in the corridor opposite SportsDirect.com), the new purpose-built gymnasium offers The Little Gym's own motor-skills and curriculum-based gymnastics programme that's a great workout for the body - and the mind. Eager parents are signing-up for free introductory classes, available for all age groups from 4 months to 12 years, prior to the start of the new term on Monday 5 January.

Whilst many after-school clubs and toddler classes focus on one sport or activity, The Little Gym's "themed" programme combines a variety of curriculum-based gym activities, music and games that evolve week-by-week. Under the guidance of a team of qualified instructors, and at their own individual pace, youngsters learn new skills that will enhance each stage of their motor-skills development. Activities promote co-ordination, balance, rhythm and flexibility, giving kids vital skills for life and an all-round physical grounding. There's also a huge emphasis on building youngster's confidence through positive praise and lots of one-to-one tuition, and it's this aspect of the programme, in particular, that's proving really popular with parents.
