What qualities is The Little Gym® looking for in its franchise candidates?
Firstly, open and customer-focused candidates who feel passionate about working with children, in a dynamic and inspiring way, and who want to help make a real difference in early childhood development.
Candidates don’t need previous fitness or gymnastic sector experience. The Little Gym® programme is based on a meticulous, professionally-developed curriculum, which new franchisees will be guided through. So, if our franchise owners become involved in teaching classes, at any stage, they are all fully trained to do so.
But, while we train them to become successful gym owners, serious candidates should have the necessary business acumen to effectively manage, hire and motivate staff to deliver outstanding customer service. It’s a fun and rewarding business, but it’s still a business!
What royalties and other fees will I need to pay?
| What | How much | When |
| Initial Franchise fee | 45,000 EUR | 20,000 EUR at contract signing |
| 25,000 EUR three months after signing | ||
| Management Service fee | 8% on gross revenue | Monthly |
| Marketing fee | 1% on gross revenue* | Monthly |

What type of premises should I be looking for?
The ideal facility is 250m² to 330m² and can usually be found in retail business areas, malls and even office buildings. As easy access is key, the facility is preferably located on a ground floor, with parking close-by. We combine your knowledge of your territory with our expertise to define the best location. Finding the best location is part of our training process and we will advise you during this important phase.
What level of income and profit will I make?
The majority of your annual turnover will be generated by classes (80% on average) and the remainder from the membership fee, birthday parties and holiday camps.
Bear in mind that The Little Gym® is not a linear business; it is largely season-driven, with two long terms and a shorter summer term.
With regards to profitability, the two main cost factors are staff and rent. Levels differ from market to market but you will need to:
- negotiate a sustainable rental agreement with your landlord,
- secure between 300-400 members to ‘break even’,
- start the business with three full-time employees,
- have an excellent knowledge and understanding of your local market.
Whilst we will support and guide you throughout every step of the process, success will ultimately depend on your capacity to drive the business.
How long does the franchise agreement last?
Ten years, with a ten-year renewal option thereafter. The renewal Franchise fee is 50% of the initial Franchise fee.
