History
How The Little Gym® came to be
Gymnast, kinesiologist and musician, Robin Wes, had a unique idea: to give children the chance to build their motor skills, as well as their social, emotional and intellectual skills - in a fun, magical, non-competitive environment. Having been a successful kinesiologist for many years, in South Africa, he moved to the US and opened The Little Gym® in 1976 in Bellevue, Washington.
The idea soared! In 1992, The Little Gym International Inc. was incorporated for the purpose of franchising Robin's concept. Since then, The Little Gym® has grown dramatically, with over 300 franchises in over 20 countries worldwide.
Nine years later, Alexander de Wit opened The Little Gym® Europe headquarters, sharing experience with the US headquarters based in Scottsdale, Arizona, to constantly improve the concept and processes, and to help European franchise owners achieve their dreams.
Since then, The Little Gym® Europe has continued growing and counts today over 20 franchises in 8 European countries.
Robin Wes remains instrumental to The Little Gym®, doing what he loves most – teaching and composing all of the music for The Little Gym®.
